O2 be in England, now that summer's here and iPods are being shifted, thanks to Hyertag's gear
O2 wanted to drive sales of the iPod touch throughout the UK.
It used Wearable Hypertags and promotional staff to distribute iPod touch vouchers which promoted an offer for the iPod touch for one weekend only.
The promotional staff invited the consumer to interact with the Hypertag using their mobile phone. By activating their Bluetooth,
consumer could download an O2 iPod touch voucher
They used Hypertag to raise the awareness of O2 and drive sales of the iPod touch.
Novel mechanic allowed people to download digital assets related to O2 directly from the promotional staff outside O2 stores.
Campaign Results
O2 benefited from 2,506 consumer requested
downloads over one day from 49 Hypertags. For each of these consumer requested downloads O2 can be sure that
the consumer stopped, interacted with the
promotional staff and downloaded a piece of O2 content that they could save to their phone.
This campaign for O2 saw sales increase by between 38% and 49% compared to other marketing methods used whilst increasing.
