Mobile social media users are creating an expensive support nightmare
Sunrise Software’s service management software, Sostenuto made a strong showing at the Service Desk and IT Support Show, reported our man at the show. There were so many interested punters at the stand he couldn’t get an interview.
But what does the browser-based system actually do?
Sostenuto 3.5, with its emphasis on user-friendly landing pages, gives you a holistic view of different ITIL modules, writes Ronald Seal.

Sunrise Sostenuto's latest ITIL 3 configuration places IT in a business context, and a new customer portal makes this a genuine web 2.0 application. This new flexibility and user friendliness will make the package ideal for managing mobile workforces, claims Angela Steel, Sunrise’s marketing manager.
Steel said she has been speaking to a variety of people in the industry, and they all want something very similar. Better support for users, particularly mobile users. “This show brought us together with IT Directors, service desk managers, and anyone involved in the IT Support industry,” she said.
By demonstrating the benefits of IT service management solutions, Sunrise has won wide acclaim, she said. Sostenuto has been widely praised and the organisations that have adopted it. It can be used as an internal service desk system, or as a platform for external facing service centre operations.
Customers include Anglian Water, the NHS, Rugby Football Union, Tamworth Borough Council, Greenwich University and Arts Council England.
It’s also popular with managed service providers and OSPs.
