Samsung G600 to hits shops in August
5 Megapixel SlimSlider is only a week away
This is fantastic. Of course, they sell a 10 megapixel device in Korea, but what the hell
Samsung is launching a five megapixel phone, the G600, in August (See pic)
Of course, if you went to Korea, you could buy a 10 megapixel camera from the same manufacturer. Nevertheless, they're very excited about the UK market, and are preparing a £3 million advertising blitz.
Mark Mitchinson (see pic) director of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, didn't share the secrets of which advertising agency will get the business. Or whether they'll share any co-op marketing funds with retail partners.
It's got autofocus, video record, LED flash and an image editor that takes panoramic shots.
So it'll be great for taking pictures, filming and editing. And great for viewing web pages. But don't chuck away your PC yet.
It 14.9mm it is a very slim slider indeed. So imagine how fiddly it'll be to work on.
Other features: expandable memory and a 1GB memory card on top of 55MB of internal memory.
Plus as MP3 player, FM radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Talk time is 3.5 hours with up to 300 hours standby time.
Expect it in shops by August. Samsung said it will be available on all major networks and from all retailers.
